For a delicious twist on regular bacon, try this old Vermont Dijon recipe.
Yield 10 side portions.

Ingredients

  • Butter, melted..... 1/4 cup
  • Brown sugar, light..... 1 cup
  • Mustard, Dijon..... 2 T
  • Maple syrup, genuine..... 1/4 cup  
  • Bacon Strips..... 30 slices

Method

  1. In a stainless mixing bowl combine the butter, brown sugar, Dijon mustard and maple syrup. Mix well.
  2. With a pastry brush, apply the butter-sugar mixture to each strip of the bacon on both sides of the strips
  3. Place bacon strips on a parchment paper lined sheet pan.
  4. Roast in 325F oven until the bacon is cooked and crispy.
  5. Serve immediately or hold warm for service.
